The Public Policy and Legislative Committee is reaching out to ask you to consider submitting written or verbal testimony for H.B. 6864, An Act Concerning the State Budget for the Biennium. This bill is going before the Appropriates Human Services subcommittee hearing next Friday, 2/28. This bill outlines the state budget through 2027. The state budget does not currently allow for an increase in Medicaid rates, despite the findings of the study (which showed that Medicaid behavioral health rates in CT were lower as compared to 5 other Medicaid states). If you plan to submit written or sign up so provide oral testimony, please do so prior to the hearing which starts, Friday, February 28th at 10am. What we are asking of CCA Members: We would like CCA Members to consider submitting written or verbal testimony. Below you will find a Word template put together by CCA Lobbyist Brian Sullivan. The sections highlighted in Yellow need to be filled in by you to customize the letter. Instructions for submitting written testimony: *Appropriations Committee Friday, February 28, 2025 The Appropriations Committee will hold a public hearing on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. in Room 2C of the LOB and via Zoom. The public hearing can be viewed via YouTube Live. In addition, the public hearing may be recorded and broadcast live on CT-N.com. Individuals who wish to testify must register using the On-line Testimony Registration Form. The registration form must contain the name of the person who will be testifying. A unique email address must be provided for each person registered to speak. Registration will close on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. Speaker order of approved registrants will be listed in a randomized order and posted on the Appropriations Committee website on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. under Public Hearing Testimony. If you do not have internet access, you may provide testimony via telephone. To register to testify by phone, call the Phone Registrant Line at 860-240-0033 to leave your contact information.
